If you rent the TV box from Vodafone, unlocking or modifying the software violates your terms of service. You may face fees when returning the device.

For Vodafone boxes with a cable card or DVB tuner (e.g., Vodafone TV box for cable in Spain), a “subscription unlock” is different: it requires either calling Vodafone to release the device’s serial number from their conditional access system (CAS) or using a third-party CAM module and smart card. Without this, the box will only decrypt scrambled channels if it receives a valid entitlement management message (EMM) from Vodafone’s headend.

Sideloading unverified apps or installing custom ROMs can expose your home network to malware, spyware, and data theft. Always download files from trusted sources.

Unlocking or flashing custom software completely voids your manufacturer and Vodafone warranty. If the device breaks, Vodafone will not replace it. Contractual Obligations

Modifying the software immediately voids any remaining manufacturer or provider warranty.

Unplug the power cable from the back of the Vodafone TV box.
